Open researcher position at the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, Osaka University
Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, Osaka university has an open researcher position related to analyzing multi-modal sensor measurements to understand real-world events, and we are now inviting applications to a postdoctoral researcher position related to Indoor Positioning and Human Activity Recognition based on sensor data analysis.
This recruitment relates to artificial intelligence for understanding real-world events, and a successful applicant is expected to work with Professor Takuya Maekawa.
Our project is in close collaboration with Dr. Ryota Kanai (ARAYA Brain Imaging) and Dr. Motoaki Kawanabe (ATR/RIKEN), and researchers are able to learn state-of-the-art technologies of machine learning and neuroscience.
We constantly submit papers to top-tier conferences related to ubiquitous computing, and researchers in our group can learn know-how on research and paper publication.
Research activities in sensor data processing, ubiquitous computing, mobile computing and wearable computing
(1) Ph.D. or equivalent in related field/s is required.
(2) Basic knowledge in machine learning is required.
(3) English language ability sufficient to fulfill one’s work duties.
(1) Time-series data processing skill is desirable.
■Number of Positions
Position: Specially Appointed Researcher (Full-time)

Work Location: Osaka University Suita Campus (1-5 Yamadaoka, Suita-city, Osaka)
Starting Date: As soon as possible (negotiable)
The term of Employment: From the starting date to March 31st, 2018 *Contract may be renewed after expiration of the term of contract (until March 31st, 2021 at longest)
Salary and Benefits: *Based on the‘Salary Regulations for National University Corporation Osaka University Limited Term Staff (Specially appointed Staff, etc.) Subject to Annual Salary System.’
Remuneration: 4,601,700 JPY or higher per annum. (Monthly payments of one-twelfth of annual salary)
Commuting allowance, housing allowance, dependent allowance, retirement allowance and bonus will not be provided.
Employment Form: Discretionary Labor System, Special Work Type
